Edington Arts

It is with great sadness that we record the death of John Bush, Edington Arts’ first and founding Chairman, an office he held for eight years.

John was a kind, generous and loyal friend to Edington Arts and a strong supporter of what we have tried to do; he chaired our Board meetings with a modest positivity which gave us freedom to explore all sorts of options, and discuss problems with honesty and confidence.

There are many many people who will miss him on a personal level, and many more for the work he did with his other charities and causes. Edington Arts is so grateful for the time and attention he gave to us out of his busy life.

We will be dedicating the remainder of this our tenth season to him, in his memory.

Experiencing “the power, the tenderness, the beauty, the ferocity of music”* in wonderful surroundings is one of life’s greatest and most fulfilling pleasures.  Edington Arts brings small scale, high quality musical performances of all kinds to the Priory Church in Edington, Wiltshire, offering memorable concerts in the welcoming atmosphere of a beautiful environment already well known as an international music venue.

Edington Arts is a Registered Charity (no. 1187289), independent both of the Priory Church and of the Music Festival which takes place in it annually during August. Of course we have very friendly relations with both, which we hope results in benefits of all sorts to all parties, not least to you our supporters and  music lovers.   It adds up to an all-embracing, affordable, musical programme which really does offer something for everyone who enjoys the experience of music being performed live.

Please explore the site, and we look forward to welcoming you in person to the very next concert which takes your fancy.
